Some good articles about great art
Below are links to some articles I read about great works of art. I highly enjoyed the articles (and the works that they are about)! I considered them well-written, and they greatly enriched my understanding of the artworks.
Sadly, most of the articles are behind a paywall — not every subject is like pure mathematics where preprints of nearly all published articles are freely available via arXiv. Nonetheless, if you're at university, your library will likely have access to the articles.
